Third Place Aquatics was born from the passionate pursuit of Kelly Zyph to achieve the Master Breeder Award for breeding tropical fish. Her notable breeding achievements quickly drew attention, leading to a burgeoning demand for her distinctively bred fish. In response, Kelly and her husband Phil established Third Place Aquatics as a platform to showcase and distribute these high-quality specimens and to serve as a vibrant forum for community engagement and education.
The ethos of Third Place Aquatics goes beyond being a humble runner-up. The inspiration for "Third Place Aquatics" is rooted in the sociological concept of "third places"— essential social spaces beyond our homes (first places) and workplaces (second places).
